Spanish Peer-Reviewed Study Found School Mask Mandates Do Not Prevent COVID-19 Transmission — Says Transmission is Lower in Preschool than in Primary Education

School mask mandates in Catalonia, Spain were shown to not reduce the spread of COVID-19; instead, age plays an important factor in the transmission of the virus, according to a peer-reviewed study.

The findings of this study were published in the journal BMJ Archives Diseases in Childhood with the title “Unravelling the role of the required use of face-covering masks for the control of SARS-CoV-2 in schools: a quasi-experimental study nested in a population-based cohort in Catalonia (Spain).”

The study examined 599,314 children aged 3–11 years attending preschool (3-5 years, without face covering mask (FCM) mandate) and primary education (6–11 years, with FCM mandate) in schools in Catalonia.

The study began on September 13, 2021, and continued until December 22, 2021, before the Omicron variant.

According to the result of the study, “SARS-CoV-2 incidence was significantly lower in preschool than in primary education, and an increasing trend with age was observed.”

“Six-year-old children showed higher incidence than 5 year olds (3.54% vs 3.1%; OR 1.15 (95% CI 1.08 to 1.22)) and slightly lower but not statistically significant SAR (4.36% vs 4.59%; incidence risk ratio 0.96 (95% CI 0.82 to 1.11)) and R* (0.9 vs 0.93; OR 0.96 (95% CI 0.87 to 1.09)). Results remained consistent using a regression discontinuity design and linear regression extrapolation approaches.”

The researchers concluded, “We found no significant differences in SARS-CoV-2 transmission due to FCM mandates in Catalonian schools. Instead, age was the most important factor in explaining the transmission risk for children attending school.”

A recent study published at NIH confirmed disposable face masks released dangerous levels of the carcinogen titanium dioxide (TiO2), as previously reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The study found that the TiO2 levels exceeded the acceptable exposure level by four times or more.

The masks were required by Dr. Fauci and his cronies during the COVID pandemic.

Here is the report from the NIH National Library of Medicine:

Although titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a suspected human carcinogen when inhaled, fiber-grade TiO2 (nano)particles were demonstrated in synthetic textile fibers of face masks intended for the general public.

STEM-EDX analysis on sections of a variety of single use and reusable face masks visualized agglomerated near-spherical TiO2 particles in non-woven fabrics, polyester, polyamide and bi-component fibers. Median sizes of constituent particles ranged from 89 to 184 nm, implying an important fraction of nano-sized particles (< 100 nm). The total TiO2 mass determined by ICP-OES ranged from 791 to 152,345 µg per mask. The estimated TiO2 mass at the fiber surface ranged from 17 to 4394 µg, and systematically exceeded the acceptable exposure level to TiO2 by inhalation (3.6 µg), determined based on a scenario where face masks are worn intensively. No assumptions were made about the likelihood of the release of TiO2 particles itself, since direct measurement of release and inhalation uptake when face masks are worn could not be assessed. The importance of wearing face masks against COVID-19 is unquestionable. Even so, these results urge for in depth research of (nano)technology applications in textiles to avoid possible future consequences caused by a poorly regulated use and to implement regulatory standards phasing out or limiting the amount of TiO2 particles, following the safe-by-design principle.

Even CNN medical analyst Dr. Lean Wen admits the so-called science she demanded the public comply with has impaired her young son.

Wen championed mask and vaccine mandates throughout the pandemic, insisted children be forced to take PCR tests weekly until they are fully vaccinated, and called for the unvaccinated to be banned from participating in society.

In an op-ed published by the Washington Post, Wen confesses the “science” she and Big Brother demanded is harmful and damaged her son’s cognitive development.

“I’m a doctor. Here’s why my kids won’t wear masks this school year,” states the title of Wen’s editorial.

“Masking has harmed our son’s language development, and limiting both kids’ extracurriculars and social interactions would negatively affect their childhood and hinder my and my husband’s ability to work,” Wen admitted.

Math and reading scores for America’s 9-year-olds fell dramatically during the first two years of the pandemic, according to AP citing a new federal study.

“These are some of the largest declines we have observed in a single assessment cycle in 50 years of the NAEP program,” said Daniel McGrath, the acting associate commissioner of NCES. “Students in 2022 are performing at a level last seen two decades ago.”
