While the world has been gratefully surprised by the positive developments in the US-Iran war, the Russia-Ukraine war continues unabated, as brutal as ever.
In the aftermath of yesterday’s drone strike by Ukraine that killed 21 people – mostly students – in a college dorm in Luhansk, Russian president Vladimir Putin tasked the military with coming back with a plan for retaliation after what Moscow branded as a ‘war crime’.
So, today, Kiev regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russia is gearing up to strike Ukraine using the new hypersonic Oreshnik (Hazel) ballistic missile.

The President of Ukraine said there are signs of preparation for a combined strike on Ukraine, including Kyiv, using various types of weapons.

Zelensky said the information comes from intelligence services in Ukraine, the US and Europe.

Reuters reported:
“The warning came a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his military to prepare options for retaliation against Ukraine for a drone strike on a student dorm in the Russian-controlled Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine.
Ukraine’s military denied responsibility for that attack.
‘We are seeing signs of preparation for a combined strike on Ukrainian territory, including Kiev, involving various types of weaponry. The specified intermediate-range weapons could be used in such a strike’, Zelensky said in an X post that did not mention the drone attack.”

In the meantime, the US Embassy in Kiev warned American citizens of a ‘significant air attack’, and urged them to seek shelter in case of an airstrike warning.
It is widely expected that Russia will use its new Oreshnik hypersonic missiles, with its reported velocity of more than 10 times the speed of sound.
