The Major League Baseball (MLB) legend Rickey Henderson has died aged 65.

According to TMZ, Henderson passed away on Friday at a hospital in Oakland where he was receiving treatment for pneumonia.

Known as the “Man of Steal,” Henderson revolutionized the game with his speed and daring play, amassing an unrivaled 1,406 career stolen bases.

Over his 25-year career, he became a 10-time All-Star, two-time World Series champion, and the 1990 American League MVP.

His single-season record of 130 stolen bases, set in 1982, remains unbroken.
