US Attorney General Merrick Garland on Tuesday fielded questions after announcing a lawsuit against Google.
Garland refused to say if a special counsel would be appointed to investigate Mike Pence’s handling of classified documents.
On Tuesday it was reported that a “small number of documents bearing classified markings” were discovered at former Vice President Mike Pence’s Carmel, Indiana home.
According to CNN, Mike Pence had one of his lawyers search his residence for classified materials “out of an abundance of caution.”
“Vice President Pence was unaware of the existence of sensitive or classified documents at his personal residence,” Pence’s rep. Greg Jacob wrote. “Vice President Pence understands the high importance of protecting sensitive and classified information and stands ready and willing to cooperate fully with the National Archives and any appropriate inquiry.”
