HORROR: Man Allegedly Beats DoorDash Driver and Mom of Three in Shocking Road Rage Incident, Leaving Her with Horrific Brain Injuries

A hard-working North Carolina mom of three has suffered life-threatening injuries following one of the worst possible attacks of road rage, as conservatives accuse the police of covering up key details of the incident for political purposes.

As the Jacksonville Daily News reported, a Jacksonville DoorDash driver was on her way to deliver an order at 1:19 a.m. Saturday, when she came up to a green traffic light. But the car in front of her, a Range Rover, refused to move.

The DoorDash driver, identified as 34-year-old Christen Phillips, began honking her horn. The driver allowed Phillips to pass, but then followed her all the way to her stop.

Once Phillips got out of the car and delivered the order, the Range Rover driver assaulted her with a wooden bat just as she was about to enter her vehicle to drive back home.

She was left unconscious as a result. When she woke up, she drove herself to the hospital.

Phillips shared more details of the savage attack in a Facebook Post on Sunday.

Saturday morning, around 2 a.m., I was delivering my last DoorDash order, and I was attacked by someone randomly who, about five minutes earlier, was sitting at a green light, not moving.

I honked my horn, he went, but then got behind me and started tail gaiting me. He followed me to the delivery, I stopped.

He kept going so I got out and ran up to deliver the food. He turned around and came back… parked in front of my car, blocking me, and when I ran back to my car, he came around to my door with a small wooden bat or baton and beat me in the head and face with it. I don’t remember it at all. I woke up an unverified amount of time later.

The guy was gone and I could not find my phone.

Once Phillips arrived at the hospital despite the horrific attack, she was transported to a trauma center in Wilmington. She also described the type of brain injuries she had.

I didn’t know what to do, so I drove to the hospital. I had to speak to a few deputies and detectives while I was there who went to the scene and found my phone. They said with the amount of blood at the scene and in my car, it was unbelievable that I was able to drive myself to the hospital.

I had to be transported to a trauma center in Wilmington. I had multiple skull fractures and brain bleeds and blood and cerebral fluid draining from my left ear for hours. My cheek bone on my left side is also fractured. I had surgery on my brain last night at 430 and got out at about 7, woke up around 10/1030.

Phillips described her attacker as a “light-skinned, roughly 6-foot-tall black man.”

The driver of the car was a light(ish) skinned black man, about 6 foot. Maybe late 30s-40 something years old. Short dark hair. Drove a black Range Rover (I remember seeing the Range Rover emblem at the light). And that’s all I really remember.

Not surprisingly, this alleged fact, omitted from coverage and police statements, has outraged many Americans.

The driver of the vehicle has not yet been apprehended.

Phillips says she has already undergone multiple brain surgeries and has another scheduled for Monday. Alarmingly, she has revealed that she still has brain fluid leaking from her left ear.

She is also undergoing facial surgery today.
