Democrat infighting is about to heat up.

The primary for New York’s 10th Congressional District has attracted a lot of prominent Dems.

Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Rep. Mondaire Jones, and the impeachment manager for Trump’s first impeachment Daniel Goldman all are in the race.

The Hill reported:

Daniel Goldman, a former federal prosecutor who led House Democrats’ efforts in former President Trump’s first impeachment, on Wednesday announced a bid for Congress.

He joins an unwieldy and hotly contested primary for a newly drawn open 10th Congressional District based in New York City.

Other Democratic candidates include former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Rep. Mondaire Jones (D-N.Y.) and New York Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou.

Part of the reason for the crowded primary is that Democrats suffered a major loss in court over their New York congressional maps.

The Hill reported:

State court judges in Maryland and New York ruled that the Democratic-controlled legislatures there violated their respective constitutions by unduly favoring one party over another in the decennial redistricting process.

New York legislators earlier this year approved new congressional district lines that would have given Democrats the advantage in 20 of the Empire State’s 26 congressional districts, and Republicans an edge in only four seats. The remaining two seats, currently held by Reps. Antonio Delgado (D) and Sean Patrick Maloney (D), narrowly favor Democrats.
