The contestant was asked if he was worried about his energy bills.

He responded by saying “Major, yeah. I’ve got one of these pre-payment meters and it’s absolutely murder.”

Year over year energy costs have skyrocketed in Europe.

Benchmark European gas prices: Up 350%

German power contracts: Up 540%

French power contracts: Up 790%

Reuters reported:

Benchmark European gas prices at the Dutch TTF hub have risen by nearly 350% year on year, while German and French front-year power contracts have leapt by 540% and 790% respectively.

Political Commentator Mike Cernovich expressed just how bad this will be for the people of Europe.

If Americans had energy bills go up 10x, that would be the end. You wouldn’t be able to pay.

Unless Europeans have extremely high savings rate, it’s going to be a mess.
