Breaking: Several South Carolina Lawmakers Call on State’s Attorney General to Release Cast Vote Records from 2020 Election

South Carolina legislators are joining the SC Safe Elections group in challenging the Attorney General’s office in their denial of the release of our Cast Vote Records from the 2020 election.

The people have until September 3rd to get this data released before it is destroyed by the government.  The state election commission is denying all of our requests based on an opinion letter from our Attorney General’s office based on a false premise.

Identical CVR records have been released to the public in other states. These include California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, and New Jersey.

According to South Carolina lawmakers, “The release of these records allows citizens of these states to evaluate trends in voting patterns which might indicate susceptibility to electronic manipulation by bad actors. Whether we personally believe this susceptibility exists in South Carolina or not, we are encouraged that our citizens are seeking to bulwark our own election systems and procedures against the irregularities and fraud discovered in other states.”

On Friday, several South Carolina lawmakers signed a letter demanding action.

The lawmakers who signed on to the letter:

Rep. Josiah Magnuson
Rep. Mike Burns
Rep. Vic Dabney
Rep. RJ May
Rep. Stewart Jones
Rep. Steven Long

Laura Scharr the Team Leader SC Safe Elections sent out this letter on Wednesday.
