BREAKING: Alex Jones Ordered to Pay $45 Million in Punitive Damages to Sandy Hook Families

Infowars founder Alex Jones on Friday was ordered to pay $45 million in punitive damages to Sandy Hook families.

Friday’s order comes just one day after Alex Jones was ordered to pay Sandy Hook parents $4.1 million in a defamation case.

The plaintiffs’ lawyer called for Alex Jones’ bullhorn to be taken away.

Bloomberg Law reported:

A Texas jury on Friday ordered Alex Jones to pay $45.2 million in punitive damages to the parents of a Sandy Hook shooting victim, a day after he was ordered to pay $4.1 million in actual damages for claiming that the school shooting was a hoax.

The two awards total nearly $50 million, well below the $150 million that parents Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis sought for the InfoWars host’s assertions that the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary massacre in Newtown, Conn., was fabricated. Their six-year-old, Jesse Lewis, was killed in the shooting.

“I am asking you to take the bullhorn away from Alex Jones and all others who believe they can profit off fear and misinformation,” plaintiffs’ lawyer Wesley Ball said during closing arguments Friday.

“I suggest to you to return a verdict that is proportionate,” Jones’ attorney Andino Reynal said during his own closing, asking jurors to order just $270,000 in punitive damages. “You’ve already sent a message. A message for the first time to a talk show host, to all talk show hosts, that their standard of care has to change.”

Alex Jones called the defamation suit an attack on his First Amendment rights.

Alex Jones responded on Thursday.

“I admitted I was wrong. I admitted it was a mistake. I admitted that I followed disinformation but not on purpose. I apologized to the families. And the jury understood that. What I did to those families was wrong. But I didn’t do it on purpose,” Alex Jones said.

Earlier this week The Gateway Pundit reported on the continued political persecution of Alex Jones in the Texas (kangaroo) court.

On Tuesday Alex Jones accused radical Judge Maya Guerra Gamblein of running a show trial — which it is. Gamblein takes every opportunity to lecture and berate Jones publicly. She also slapped a gag order on Alex so he is not able to defend himself from the fake news reports.

Attorney Mike Cernovich calls this the most rigged case he has ever read about in his life.
