Antifa Activists Planning to Go to Justice Alito’s Home on Monday Evening

Shut Down DC, an Antifa group, has posted a call for people to protest at the home of Justice Samuel Alito on Monday evening.

According to reports, Alito and his family have already had to be moved to an undisclosed location following Politico’s publishing of the leaked Roe v. Wade opinion draft.

Shut Down DC tweeted, “Justice Alito thinks he can take away our rights. But our rights are fundamentally ours. We’re showing up to tell him in person,” along with a flyer that bizarrely attempts to link interracial marriage to Roe v. Wade.

The home addresses of conservative justices were posted by a group called Ruth Sent Us, who have also called for people to disrupt Catholic church services.

“While doxing the justices’ home addresses is ostensibly so protesters can go to those justices’ homes to protest – which many Americans consider objectionable by itself, and in fact which violates federal law at 18 U.S.C. § 1507 – many others also note this could lead to violence, if an activist were to attack a justice or the justice’s family, Breitbart News reports. “Rumors around D.C. are that Alito and his family have been moved to an undisclosed location for safety, according to interviews on Fox News and WMAL radio, given the additional opposition he is facing as the writer of the leaked majority opinion.”

Demonstrators have already went to the homes of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and Chief Justice John Roberts.

On Monday, the White House condemned the protests — after they initially refused to do so.

“[President Biden] strongly believes in the constitutional right to protest,” said a statement from his press secretary Jen Psaki. “But that should never include violence, threats, or vandalism. Judges perform an incredibly important function in our society, and they must be able to do their jobs without concern for their personal safety.”

Despite the residential protests being a seemingly clear-cut violation of federal laws, the White House refused to condemn the activists or urge them to choose another location when pressed about it last week.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked about the situation by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy during Thursday’s press briefing.

“I think the President’s view is that there is a lot of passion, a lot of fear, a lot of sadness from many many people across this country about what they saw in that leaked document,” Psaki replied. “We obviously want people’s privacy to be respected, we want people to protest peacefully, if they want to protest. That is certainly what the president’s view would be.”

Doocy followed up by asking about the activists protesting at the justice’s home addresses.

“So, he doesn’t care if they’re protesting outside the Supreme Court or outside someone’s private residence?” Doocy asked.

“I don’t have an official US government position on where people protest. I want it, we want it, of course, to be peaceful,” Psaki said.
