Amazing Gesture: U-Haul Offers Assistance to Flood Victims in St. Louis, Missouri – 30 Days of Free Storage Following Historic Rain and Flooding
On Tuesday, weather experts and law enforcement are urging residents in the St. Louis area not to leave their houses and “do not drown.”
“Record rainfall caused widespread flash flooding across the St. Louis area early Tuesday, closing multiple roadways and prompting rescues from vehicles stranded by high waters, authorities said,” ABC reported.
“Rainfall of between 6 to 10 inches (15 to 25 centimeters) was reported overnight, the National Weather Service said on Twitter. St. Louis recorded more than 7 inches of rainfall Tuesday morning, surpassing the record of 6.85 inches from Aug. 20, 1915, the weather service said,” the outlet added.
People are being asked to avoid driving on Tuesday due to the rain.

That was when U-Haul company jumped into action.
The American moving truck, trailer, and self-storage rental company U-Haul announced on Tuesday it was providing free self-storage and U-Box container use for 30 days at eight locations in the greater St. Louis area for anyone who has been affected by the recent flooding.
“Countless families have watched as their homes take on water, leaving damaged possessions behind,” said Aaron Freeman, U-Haul Area District Vice President in a statement. “There will be a significant clean-up process in the coming weeks. U-Haul has the infrastructure, services and commitment to aid communities when natural disasters like this occur. Anyone impacted by these storms can make use of a storage room or U-Box container at no cost for one month while availability exists at our cooperating stores.”
