President Trump on Wednesday reacted to the Graham Platner scandal as top Democrats jumped ship on his campaign, and his withdrawal from the race was looming.
Trump appeared to question the legitimacy of the claims and called out the double standard with rape allegations from conservative women versus those from liberal women.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Platner was forced out of the Maine Senate race after he won over 70% of the vote in the state’s Democratic primary amid new salacious allegations of rape.

Minutes before the news broke, Trump was asked whether he thinks Democrats should be able to pull the switcharoo as they did with Joe Biden in 2024. Just like Biden, who won his primary, the Democrats have pressured a duly elected candidate to drop out so they can select a new candidate against the will of the voters.
"He won the primary," Trump noted.
The President continued, "It's really a question of whether or not you believe the woman. A lot of people say big falsehoods."
Trump then pointed to the case of 40-year-old Lyndsey Fifield, a Virginia conservative who dated Platner between 2013 and 2015. She said that Platner felt the idea of rape gave him power and fueled his “warrior ethos.”
But when she came out with this claim and allegations of Platner physically abusing her by grabbing her by the shoulders, twisting her arm behind her back, and essentially imprisoning her inside a bedroom, her story was ignored. One Virginia Democrat even described the allegations as a “boogeyman” and a “shiny new thing” designed to scare people.
"It's very interesting when a Republican woman came out with the same charge, nobody believed it. When this woman came out, everybody believed it," Trump said.

Liberal Planter rape accuser Jenny Racicot sat down with CNN's Jake Tapper on Monday, and it was game over for Platner.
In the conspicuously timed interview, just one week before Maine's July 13 deadline for the Democrats to replace him, Racicot oddly said she came forward because "there are a lot of men in this world relying on the silence of women to be where they are." But she also said, "I really agree with his politics. I think we need somebody with those political stances," and that his political videos "get me fired up."
"I understand why people want someone like him in office, and I felt like me coming forward would, essentially, potentially take that away," she added.
What? This is what led all the Democrats to abandon Platner and pressure him to drop out of the race. It wasn't the Nazi tattoo or the multiple other women accusing him of abuse.
