Dolly Parton Provides Health Update After She Cancels Her Vegas Residency (VIDEO)

Country music icon Dolly Parton, 80, on Monday provided a health update after she canceled her Vegas residency.

Last September, Dolly postponed her Vegas concerts due to health issues.

“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Dolly said last year.

“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!” Dolly Parton added.

She continued, “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I’ll still be able to work on all my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show-ready, as they say.”

“And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding,” she added.

On Monday, it was revealed that Dolly Parton canceled her Vegas residency.

Dolly gave an update about her health in a video message posted to social media.

The 80-year-old compared herself to an old, classic car and said her body needs a tune up.

“First, it’s concerning my health. I have some good news and a little bad news,” Parton said. “The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments and I’m improving every day.”

“I am truly sorry that I’m going to miss all of you that had tickets to see me in Las Vegas. Well, you get on to Vegas, and you have a big time… And I’ll see you somewhere down the line,” she said.

Dolly continued, “I’m doing really well, and they assure me that everything I have is treatable, so I’m going with that, and I just want you to know I thank you for standing by me and that I will always love you.”

Last year, Carl Dean, Dolly Parton’s husband of nearly 62 years, passed away.

He was 82 years old.

“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together,” Dolly Parton wrote last March.

“Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy,” she wrote.
